Yearly Well Woman Visit

Annual well-woman exams are an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Early detection is crucial in breast and pelvic conditions, including cancer.

Our practice recommends these exams annually, for the above reasons.

In sexually active women, these exams starting at age 18-21 (or soon after sexual activity begins) are personalized to the age and needs of the patient.

As many healthy women consider the gynecologist as their "primary doctor", and don't frequent any others, these exams are even more important.

Pap smears, which identify cervical cancer, are performed at annual exams in women over 21. HPV testing is done from age 30, unless the pap was abnormal, then done reflexively.
